The experience
Join a friendly bilingual school in Semarang and help students practice English through fun classes and cultural exchange. You’ll experience local life, connect with caring teachers and bright students, and be part of a warm community that values learning, respect, and global friendship.
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Program Details
At our bilingual junior high school in Semarang, you’ll have the chance to share your English skills while immersing yourself in Indonesian culture. Volunteers assist local teachers in conversational English, pronunciation, and cultural exchange activities inside and outside the classroom.
You’ll also experience school events, creative projects, and interactions with enthusiastic students who are eager to learn about the world. In return, you’ll gain teaching experience, learn basic Bahasa Indonesia, and enjoy life in a warm and supportive community.
This program is perfect for volunteers who enjoy working with young learners, are passionate about education, and love connecting across cultures.
Activities & Shift
Main Activities
Assist English teachers during classes (conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation)
Lead fun English games, songs, and cultural activities
Join creative workshops and extracurricular sessions
Help students practice speaking through casual chats and group projects
Participate in cultural exchange days or school events
Optional Activities
Share your culture, language, or hobbies with students
Support the school’s social media or creative content projects
Join field trips or community programs (based on schedule)
Typical Schedule
Monday to Friday: 4–5 hours/day (between 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Weekends: Free for travel, rest, or exploring Semarang
