What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Music: Perform to entertain guests, children or local communities.

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

What you get

3 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Fluent English

Between 18 and 29 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Program Description:

Join our team in Porto and help us keep the good vibes flowing! We’re a friendly, international hostel where travelers from all over the world come together.

As a bar volunteer, you’ll mainly help with being behind the bar, with organizing activities (like Karaoke, Quizz, Happy Hour) during the afternoon/night time, and with hosting Pubcrawls. You’ll also give a hand with light cleaning of the bar and lounge common areas. But mostly we are looking for someone who brings energy, personality, and a true party spirit, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for guests to create unforgettable memories🎉.

The schedule is around 24 hours per week, usually spread over 4 shifts, with 3 days off. Sometimes we group hours so you can get longer breaks to travel or explore Portugal.

In exchange, we offer you free accommodation, breakfast, and the chance to meet amazing people every day. Porto is an incredible city full of culture, food, and music — and during your stay, it will feel like home. 💙

Activities & Shift

You will serve drinks with confidence and a smile, engage with customers, and help keep the mood fun and upbeat while maintaining professionalism!

Further tasks for a normal bar shift include keeping track of bar sales, preparing drinks, keeping the bar and surrounding common areas tidy and clean, buying food or drinks in a nearby supermarket if we run out unexpectedly, socialising with the guests, and either hosting activities in the hostel or guiding a pubcrawl!

Intermediate English (Portuguese/Spanish/French is a plus, but not required)
