The experience

I have a bungalow on the island of Hoy in stunning Orkney. We are surrounded by the sea. My business is as leather worker . You will have your own private room and use of the house in return for building a greenhouse,some gardening and house decorating. There will be plenty of free time to explore. There is a campervan for hire if you have insurance/ valid license. Enjoy island life, ferry rides and house dogs all with a Norse theme. Welcome 🤗

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Program Details

You come, we learn from each other, we get some jobs done with smiling faces, we explore and enjoy ourselves on these amazing islands.

Activities & Shift

Some gardening, greenhouse building, dog walking, cooking, some painting and decorating and crafts. Some knowledge of campervans would help but not essential. There are no shifts. You are asked to contribute 4 hours per day X4. The rest of the time is yours.
