This is a specialized Social Project recruiting medical professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Assistants) and qualified students to augment clinic support. Your role is hands-on and requires excellent initiative due to the resource-limited environment.


What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 950 One time

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: $950 US Dollars for 4 weeks $120 for each week thereafter As a Social Project supporting under-resourced communities, this fee is necessary for the sustainability of the project and the quality of the experience for volunteers. It exclusively covers your mandatory support: Homestay Accommodation, 2 meals daily (breakfast and dinner), Airport Reception, program orientation, Waray Waray language lesson, and 24-hour local staff support.

Program Details

This is a specialized Social Project recruiting medical professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Assistants) and qualified students to augment clinic support. Your role is hands-on and requires excellent initiative due to the resource-limited environment.

Your core collaboration will involve:

Direct assistance to the one doctor and handful of nurses at the Rural Health Unit.

Contributing to various VFV Health projects, such as supporting the Nutrition Project or providing public health awareness seminars.

What is Included for You:
The program fee covers accommodation with a local family, 2 meals daily, Airport Reception, Orientation, Waray Waray language lesson, and crucial 24-hour local staff support.


Activities & Shift

Activities:

Patient Records: Record patient vitals and medical history.

Clinical Assistance: Assist with diagnostics, dressing wounds, and shadow the rural health doctor/nurses.

Procedures (Qualifications Dependent): Assist with inoculations, minor surgery, and helping with delivery.

Community Outreach: Conduct barangay clinics (outreach health services) and provide health education/training to community groups.

Shifts:

Hours: 4 hours per day (minimum of 20 hours per week).

Schedule: 08:00 AM – 12 Noon, Monday to Friday.


Rules

Professional Documentation: Medical professionals must submit a copy of their credentials or certificates. Students must provide proof of strong commitment to the health care field.

Duration: Minimum stay is 2 weeks; maximum is 6 months.

Financials/Logistics: International or Domestic Airfares, Insurance, and Visa costs are not included and are the volunteer's responsibility.

Age: Minimum age is 18.

Homestay Respect: Respect for the cultural norms and house rules of your local host family is mandatory.

Initiative: Volunteers must possess a high degree of initiative to participate well.
