Program Details
Our volunteer program is designed to create a meaningful exchange between travelers and the local Himalayan community. We welcome volunteers who are open-minded, curious, and eager to experience authentic mountain life while contributing to our sustainable lifestyle.
Activities & Shift
A typical day begins with fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings. After a warm cup of chai, volunteers usually start their day around 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. The morning tasks include watering the garden, cleaning common areas, helping to prepare breakfast, and maintaining the kitchen or outdoor spaces.
Late morning to early afternoon, volunteers can assist with gardening, light maintenance, creative decoration, or small eco-friendly projects. We love when volunteers bring their own ideas to make our space more sustainable and beautiful.
In addition, volunteers also get a chance to interact with local children from nearby villages. They can organize short English teaching sessions, creative art or storytelling activities, and simple fun games to help kids learn in a joyful way. This creates a wonderful cultural exchange where both sides — volunteers and children — learn from each other.
After lunch, the rest of the day is free for relaxation or exploration. In the evenings, volunteers often join us in preparing dinner, cooking local dishes, or spending time with guests. Sometimes we sit together for tea, music, or storytelling — enjoying simple, happy moments as a family.
The daily work is around 4–5 hours, for 5 days a week, with 2 days off for rest or local adventures. Volunteers can use their free time to explore nearby waterfalls, temples, and mountain trails.
We keep everything flexible and stress-free, focusing on shared experiences, nature, and kindness. Every day brings something new — whether it’s teaching kids, planting something fresh, or just watching the sunset with new friends. 🌸
