The experience

Join Scholars & Roots Ghana in Mpintsin to teach nutrition and wellness to our community and students. Help them learn healthy eating habits, fitness. Share knowledge, inspire change, and experience Ghana’s rich culture while supporting youth development through health education and community engagement.


What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Between 18 and 66 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Our volunteer program combines education and community impact. Volunteers will work with the locals and schools to teach nutrition, healthy eating habits, and wellness practices. Activities include giving simple talks, helping plan balanced meals, organizing fun fitness and awareness sessions, and engaging with the youth to promote a healthy lifestyle in Mpintsin.


Activities & Shift

You’ll spend time with our community and school — teaching them about healthy eating, hydration, and simple ways to stay strong and fit! You can share fun nutrition tips, help plan balanced local meals, and join in light fitness. You’ll also support our health awareness sessions for the community.

3–4 hours a day, Monday to Friday
Mpintsin Community & local school
Weekends off — enjoy exploring our beaches, markets, and Ghanaian culture!

Respect local culture, traditions, and everyone in the community.
Be kind, patient, and supportive when working with children and youth.
No smoking, drugs, or alcohol during volunteer hours or on school/community grounds.
Keep your room and surroundings clean and organized.
Always inform a coordinator if you’ll be late or unable to attend an activity.
Ask permission before taking or sharing photos/videos of children.
Follow our safeguarding and code of conduct policies at all times.
