The experience

We live in a spacious house with a pool 🏊‍♂️ and a big backyard, on one of the main avenues in town! We're looking for English native speakers for a fun language exchange — we’ll help you with your Portuguese too! On your free time, enjoy the pool, beaches 🏖️, hiking trails 🥾, and nearby attractions like Beto Carrero World 🎢. You’ll have a private room with bathroom, TV, and air conditioning.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Beginner Portuguese or Fluent English

Between 22 and 61 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

We’re mainly looking for native English speakers interested in a language exchange — we’ll help you with Portuguese while practicing English together!

During your free time, you can relax by the pool 🏊, explore our safe and peaceful city, or enjoy the many attractions nearby: beautiful beaches 🏖️, hiking trails, a water park, water sports, pubs 🍻, and rural landscapes.

Our home is close to gyms, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, pharmacies, and local shops, making daily life super convenient. You’ll also find here the second largest oceanographic museum in the world! In the neighboring city is Beto Carrero World 🎢, one of the top attractions in the state, surrounded by stunning beaches.

We’re only 40 minutes away from the airport and major cities like Balneário Camboriú, Itajaí, and Joinville. You’ll have a private room with your own bathroom, TV, air conditioning, and heater. The room is separate from the main house, right next to the pool — offering privacy, comfort, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Rules

🍎 Food & Diet

We prefer a balanced and healthy diet, avoiding fast food and fried foods, but there are no strict restrictions — we are not exclusively vegetarian.

⚠️ Rules

We do not accept smokers, couples, or people who overconsume alcohol.

We love dogs 🐶, but we already have three small ones in the backyard, so we cannot accommodate additional pets.
