Join our team at Ecolodge on Faial Island for up to 6 months! Help welcome guests, manage check-in/out and reservations, and coordinate with restaurant and housekeeping in our reception. Fluent English

Over 20 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

European Union Passport

United States visa or citizenship

Program Details

At Ecolodge on Faial Island, we are looking for a motivated Work & Travel volunteer to support our Reception Team for up to 6 months.

What we expect from you:
Welcome guests warmly and assist with check-in and check-out
Manage reservations in our booking system and keep guest records updated
Communicate and coordinate with restaurant and housekeeping teams
Help ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to a positive guest experience
Bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to learn

Activities & Shift

You’ll work 5 days a week, usually from 8 AM to 1 PM, with flexibility to adjust hours to the needs of the reception. Shifts are never longer than 5 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the island and all it has to offer!

Always maintain a clean, neat, and friendly appearance.
Treat our team, guests, and lodge property with respect.
Communicate openly if you have any questions or need support.
Keep a positive and flexible attitude – working in a small lodge can be dynamic and exciting!
Enjoy the island responsibly: respect local customs, team and nature.
English is preferred for daily communication, but learning some Portuguese is encouraged and welcomed.
