The experience

The most important product in worm composting is Theoresulting compost. This excrement product of worms has some features that greatly differentiates it from conventional fertilizers. The Fincalavirgen worm compost is made from organic recyclables such as raw compost from bananas, sugar ear, rainforest foliage, coffee cups, green waste, horse dung and cow dung from our own organic production.

What you offer

Description: Finca La Virgen is in the Biological Corridor La Gamba in southern Costa Rica at 600 meters above sea level. Accessible from the Pan-American Highway via a 7 km mountain road, sometimes only by four-wheel drive. Since the finca is too far from the nearest town, it has its own water and electricity supply. We work closely together with the Tropical station La Gamba (COBIGA). This is our main reference, The University of Vienna. We have o transport

Desde 2007, producimos fertilizante de lombriz para el proyecto de reforestación "Corredor Biológico La Gamba" en el sur de Costa Rica. El voluntario ayudará a producir este producto de alta calidad.

Activities & Shift

Assistant to the rainworm manager. The volunteers will help our workers to collect the basic material for the compost (banana trees, sugarcane, leaves, gras, horse extremities, etc. then feed the rainworm, dry and pack the rainworm compost. Planting rainforest trees.
