Chill low-season hostel sitter in Arctic Lofoten
The experience
End-of-season vibes in the Arctic!
We’re looking for people to join us at our cozy hostel in Lofoten. It’s the low-season, so things are super relaxed - in October there are a few other volunteers and very few hours of work, and in November there will be almost no guests. I won’t be on site then, so it’s more like hostel sitting than a full-on volunteering experience. Expect about 1–2 hours of help per day.

Program Details
This is not a typical volunteering position – it’s more like hostel sitting.
The busy season is over: we usually host up to 60 guests a day in summer, but now we have only 3–5 guests per day. Your help is needed mainly to keep the place running smoothly and welcoming, but the atmosphere is completely different – quiet, slow, and peaceful.
We’re looking for independent, responsible people who are comfortable spending time on their own. Polar night is approaching, the weather can bring strong Arctic storms, and there might be very little social interaction. If you love nature, solitude, and cozy winter vibes under the northern lights, this is the perfect place for you.
What you’ll do (about 1–2 hours per day):
🧹 Light housekeeping – keeping common spaces tidy and cozy.
🪵 Occasional small tasks – like painting or minor maintenance.
🤝 Greeting guests and answering basic questions when they arrive.
That’s it! The rest of the time is yours – go chase the aurora, enjoy the wild winter nature, relax in our sauna or jacuzzi, or simply soak in the magic of Arctic silence. ❄️
