Reception

The experience

As a reception volunteer, you’ll help us make sure everything runs smoothly at the front desk. You’ll welcome guests, assist with check-ins and check-outs, and be there to help them with anything they need during their stay. This position is perfect for someone friendly, organized, and who loves meeting new people.

What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

1 day off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Our volunteer program is all about creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for guests from all over the world. Volunteers become part of the La Choza family — helping with the daily operations, learning new skills, and enjoying life by the beach in Playa Venao. We work together as a team to make sure our guests feel at home, free, and connected.

Activities & Shift

• Welcoming guests with a smile 🌞
• Helping with check-ins and check-outs
• Giving information about the hostel, local area, and activities (yoga, salsa, tours, etc.)
• Assisting guests with anything they need
• Keeping the reception area organized and clean
• Communicating with guests in person and through WhatsApp

Rules

• Keep a positive and respectful attitude with guests, staff, and other volunteers.
• Be on time for your shifts.
• No drugs or excessive drinking during working hours.
• Keep common areas clean and tidy.
• Respect quiet hours and community vibe.
