Program Details
At The Homestead Skills and Technical Education Academy, we offer qualifications in hospitality, tour guiding, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and clothing production. But we don’t stop there – we are committed to going the extra mile to support our students throughout their time at Ongula.
We are currently seeking passionate individuals to assist with computer literacy, English, German, and other foreign languages.
In addition, we have recently launched a new initiative to support underprivileged learners from the nearby school. Through extra-curricular activities, tutoring, and holiday clubs, we focus on English, STEM subjects, and computer literacy, giving children the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
If you love teaching, mentoring, and making a real difference in young people’s lives, this is your chance to be part of something meaningful!
Activities & Shift
Experience the joy of teaching and mentoring by joining our Academy team. Volunteers help students develop skills in computer literacy, English, German, and other languages, as well as assist with homework and school projects. Volunteers typically contribute up to 30 hours per week, with activities scheduled to best support both students and volunteers.
Each day is designed to balance learning and enrichment. Mornings are dedicated to tutoring, language lessons, and computer literacy sessions, while afternoons allow time for rest, reflection, or exploring the local area. Late evenings may include extra support activities, such as helping with homework clubs, holiday programs, or planning interactive learning sessions.
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting educational growth, confidence, and opportunities for children from both our academy and the nearby school. Comfortable accommodations and meals are provided, ensuring a rewarding and immersive experience while making a real impact in the community.
As a volunteer you will play a key role in connecting our programmes and guests. Housed in our tented camp, with an en-suite bathroom, seating area outside and a small desk & chair, what more could you ask for.
