My experience here was truly wonderful! The team is incredible — kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. The tasks are easy and enjoyable, and the schedule is flexible, which makes everything flow smoothly and the days go by fast. The hostel is very well located, close to everything you might need. The beds are super comfortable (which makes a huge difference!), and the breakfast is excellent. The supervision and organization are amazing, ensuring a genuine and enriching exchange. I'm really grateful for the experience and all the beautiful people I met here! I'm sad I'm leaving!

Very welcoming and fun environment, however tasks agreed beforehand weren't exactly what was agreed, but they were very accommodating to me and helpful when I needed a few days off because of an illness.

The hostel is located in a very central place, close to restaurants, pubs and tourist attractions. The volunteer room is equipped for six people and breakfast is plentiful (they have delicious homemade cakes). The staff welcomed me very well and showed me my daily tasks. Unfortunately, during the month I was there, it was just me and another volunteer, so the work schedule was 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. I worked as a receptionist and 2 days in the kitchen/housekeeping, although I applied for a bar position (there's no bar, just a fridge). When I left the shift started to be 4hrs.

Volunteering at Lisbon Hostel was my first experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to others. I worked at the reception and helped a bit with housekeeping, which was all fine. Julio, Joisie, and Taiz were very supportive and made the shifts more enjoyable. Communication between management and volunteers could be improved, and I think 4 working hours would fit the workload better than 6. The hostel is beautiful, centrally located, and meeting other volunteers made the experience even more enriching.

It was my first time volunteering and my experience at the hostel was very positive. The hostel is beautiful and schedules were respected. The staff is friendly and the volunteers that I met were fantastic. I mainly worked at the front desk, which was a nice experience. I think there's a lack of communication about what you should and shouldn't do, and above all, I think that six hours of work per day, at least for a front desk position, is absolutely unnecessary. Despite this my experience was really positive. You have time to explore the city and have a great time. I would recommend!!

My time at the hostel was wonderful, it's in a fantastic location and the schedule gave me the opportunity and time to explore outside of Lisbon. I enjoyed was being along side other volunteers and interacting with guests. I had originally applied for the “Bartending and Party Promoting” position, but there seems to be little to none of that. Most days I sat behind the reception to check in guests or asked to design or make art of some sort around the hostel. The job description did not match my tasks. Some of the full time employees were very unwelcoming and rude. Overall it was good.

It is in a great location, full of things to do nearby and it is a great place to meet lots of new people from all over the world. The work was fair, easy and the hours were respected. Most staff were really nice however some staff were not so pleasant. They did not clearly communicate what they wanted to be done and was annoyed when it was done differently. Communication could be much better. There was lack of communication. Management didn't clearly explain everything at first, including days of work and some other things which I found out later from another member of staff. Good experience

The hostel is very nice, the other volunteers were the best! The stuff people and the other ladies that work at the hostel are AMAZING (a big hug🥰🌹). 《For my experience the place and people are super, I think they just need to organize better the team》I don't recommend the cleaning/housekeeping shift because the hostel needs a lot of work and it's not fair compared to the other kind of shifts. I was asked to clean every day all the bathrooms of the hostel and it was CRAZY. I was working 4h/day and then it became 6h not respecting the contract. I left earlier with the Worldpackers assistance.

Fui muito bem recebido pela anfitriã Cátia e pelos staffs. Ela é super simpática e prestativa. Os turnos são leves e bem organizados. O hostel é bem localizado, com metrô e mercado perto. Ótimo ambiente e boa convivência. Uma das melhores experiências que já tive. Recomendo!

Voluntariar no the hostel tem sido uma experiência incrível. As tarefas, horários e folgas atribuídos a mim foram cumpridos conforme combinado. Fui muito bem recebida e acolhida pelos staffs desde o primeiro dia. A gerente, Catia é uma pessoa flexível e está sempre disposta a nos ajudar no que for preciso. Só tenho a agradecer a ela, a toda a equipe de staffs do hostel pelo suporte e claro a todos os voluntários que fizeram parte dessa aventura comigo. A cada voluntariado levo na mochila a saudade e no coração a esperança de um novo reencontro. Gratidão por tudo the hostel, nos vemos pelo mundo!
