SPEND 3 MONTHS IN COSTA RICA AS A RESIDENT NATURALIST
The experience
A fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic young people with a true passion for
nature to spend three months in southern Costa Rica.
The role in our exclusive ecolodge includes the following:
- Guiding guests on night tours and rainforest hikes
- Running boat and kayaking excursions
- Taking guests out on snorkelling and bioluminescence tours
Helping with light maintenance and gardening
- Helping taking care of our dogs and other animals
What you offer
30 hours of help per week
Tour Guide:
Organize and lead tours around the city.
Reception:
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
What you get
1 day off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Fast Internet Access:
High-speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Fluent English or Intermediate Spanish
Between 19 and 28 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)
Be from outside Costa Rica

Program Details
We usually have two volunteers at a time for a length of 3 months. Priority will be given to those who have studied biology/conservation at undergraduate level with a serious love for pristine nature.
We cannot care for strong dietary restrictions, and mainly serve vegetarian meals. This is a v very isolated place and occasions to go into town will be rare.
Activities & Shift
You will be expected to be available throughout the day to support our work with guests but there will be many down times during which you are welcome to take a swim, take a hike in the rainforest, relax in the common areas.
Rules
No smoking, occasional drinking only with the rest of the family. Must be able to swim. Must love dogs and all other creatures. No loud noises.
