Program Details

The Jungle English Teaching Volunteer Program in Lombok offers a unique opportunity to teach English to children in a serene, natural jungle environment. Volunteers will live close to the community, fully immersing themselves in local life while helping to improve educational outcomes for children who have limited access to quality language instruction.

Your role involves teaching basic to intermediate English, focusing on communication skills, vocabulary building, and conversational practice. The program supports sustainable development by empowering children with language abilities that can open doors to better education and future job opportunities. Volunteers receive orientation and teaching materials to help them prepare, along with ongoing support from local coordinators.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers teach three sessions per day, each lasting two hours:

Morning Session (08:00 AM – 10:00 AM): Focus on basic English skills such as greetings, numbers, colors, and simple sentence structures for younger children.

Afternoon Session (03:00 PM – 05:00 PM): More advanced lessons including conversational English, storytelling, and vocabulary expansion for older children and teens.

Evening Session (07:30 PM – 09:30 PM): Interactive activities like games, role-playing, and group discussions to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Between teaching sessions, volunteers have time to explore the jungle surroundings, engage with the local culture, and participate in community events.
