The experience

Este no es un voluntariado turístico ni masivo. Es una oportunidad para vivir como local, ayudar en tareas reales del campo relacionadas con caballos , practicar mucho español y sumarte en la cotidianidad de una familia colombiana.
Es una experiencia sencilla, honesta y enriquecedora. Ideal para quienes buscan algo más auténtico que lo que ofrece el turismo convencional.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 20 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: Un porcentaje de la contribución será donado a iniciativas sociales en Tenjo, y el resto se utilizará para cubrir los gastos de alimentación de los voluntarios.

What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Te invitamos a compartir nuestra vida en el campo, en una finca familiar donde los caballos, el idioma español y la naturaleza te acompañarán cada día.
Aquí no hay rutinas estrictas ni relojes apurados. Solo el ritmo de los animales, la tierra, personas y cultura.

Tu ayuda será muy valorada y parte esencial de la vida en la finca. Sin embargo, una de las bellezas de este voluntariado es que tendrás tiempo libre. Aquí no se trata de estar ocupado todo el día, sino de encontrar un equilibrio entre ayudar, aprender, descansar y disfrutar del entorno.

También puedes salir a explorar Tenjo por tu cuenta. El pueblo tiene mucho por ofrecer y es fácil moverse de forma independiente.

We invite you to share our life in the countryside, on a family farm where horses, the Spanish language, and nature will be part of your everyday life.
There are no strict routines or rushed schedules here — only the rhythm of the animals, the land, the people, and the culture.

Your help will be truly appreciated and will become an essential part of life on the farm. But one of the best things about this volunteer experience is that you’ll also have free time. It’s not about being busy all day, but about finding a balance between helping, learning, resting, and enjoying your surroundings.

You’re also welcome to explore Tenjo on your own. The town has a lot to offer, and it’s easy to get around independently.

Activities & Shift

Esperamos tu colaboración unas 20-25 horas a la semana, repartidas según el ritmo del lugar y de los animales. Algunas de las tareas incluyen:

• Alimentar y cuidar a los caballos
• Limpiar establos y mantener los espacios donde viven los animales
• Jardinería básica y cuidado del entorno natural
• Ayuda en pequeñas construcciones o arreglos (cercas, comederos, etc.)
• Acompañarnos a mover animales de un espacio a otro
• Estar presente en visitas veterinarias, si coinciden durante tu estadía
• Participar en la dinámica diaria del campo y la casa

We expect your help for about 20–25 hours per week, depending on the rhythm of the farm and the animals. Some of the tasks may include:

• Feeding and caring for the horses
• Cleaning stables and maintaining the animals’ living areas
• Basic gardening and taking care of the natural surroundings
• Helping with small constructions or repairs (fences, feeders, etc.)
• Joining us when moving animals from one area to another
• Being present during veterinary visits, if they happen while you're here
• Taking part in the daily life of the farm and the house

Rules

Condiciones de Salud y Trabajo
Los voluntarios deben gozar de buena salud y no tener enfermedades contagiosas. Tenga en cuenta que la atención médica más cercana está a al menos 30 minutos, y en la finca solo se dispone de un botiquín de primeros auxilios. Aunque la finca promueve el intercambio cultural, se espera que los voluntarios actúen con discreción y mantengan una actitud respetuosa al interactuar con los empleados locales.

Riesgos con Caballos y Otros Animales
Montar a caballo y manejar ganado son actividades de alto riesgo. Los voluntarios que participen en estas actividades lo hacen bajo su propia responsabilidad. Finca El Pilar de las 3Z no se hace responsable por accidentes o lesiones.

Seguro
Los voluntarios deben contar con un seguro contra accidentes con cobertura amplia durante toda su estancia en Colombia.

*Health and Work Conditions*
Volunteers must be in good health and free from contagious diseases. Please note that medical attention is at least 30 minutes away, and only a first aid kit is available on-site. While the farm encourages cultural exchange, volunteers should exercise discretion and maintain a polite attitude when interacting with local employees.

*Risk with Horses and Other Livestock*
Horseback riding and livestock handling are high-risk activities. Volunteers engaging in these activities do so at their own risk. Finca el Pilar de las 3Z is not responsible for any accidents or injuries.

*Insurance*
Volunteers must have their accident insurance with comprehensive coverage during their stay in Colombia.
