Scholars & Roots Ghana is a new NGO dedicated to cultural exchange, developing communities and providing children with quality education. We work from the ground-up, partnering with schools in our immediate community to make a difference today. What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Arts:
Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Discounts on Drinks:
Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Program Details
Scholars & Roots Ghana is dedicated to supporting children, schools, and sustainable community projects. Volunteers assist with after-school programs, creative arts, and mentorship, while experiencing Ghanaian culture through cooking, storytelling, music, and language exchange. Join us to make a meaningful impact, share skills, and connect with a welcoming local community.
Activities & Shift
Support during or after-school programs, literacy and reading clubs, and mentorship for children.
Lead or assist with creative arts, music, dance, and sports activities.
Help with environmental awareness campaigns and light community improvement projects.
Participate in cultural exchange activities, including cooking, storytelling, and language practice.
Assist with classroom organization, school painting, or small renovation projects.
Shift / Hours:
Up to 20 hours per week, flexible depending on daily schedule.
2 full days off per week to rest or explore the community.
Work schedule can be adapted based on volunteer skills and interests.
Rules
1. Be kind, respectful, and open to learning about Ghanaian culture and community life.
2. Treat children, teachers, and community members with care and patience.
3. Help keep shared spaces tidy and organized.
4. Communicate openly if there’s a schedule conflict or question.
5. Follow basic health and safety guidelines.
6. Respect the home environment and personal belongings.
7. Participate with a positive attitude and be willing to try different activities.
