The experience

Our organization established in 2020 in Uganda, empowers orphans, vulnerable children, youth, and women through education, skills training, and community development. Guided by Christian values, we provide care, mentorship, and sustainable livelihood programs to build hope, transform lives, and enable meaningful participation in society.


What you offer

18 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Holistic Therapies: You can take part in any of our therapeutic activities for free.


Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 75 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Volunteer Program Structure

‎1. Program Objective

‎To engage committed volunteers in supporting orphans, vulnerable children, youth, and women through educational, social, and community development activities while fostering personal growth and service spirit.

‎2. Volunteer Categories

‎1. Child Support Volunteers

‎Assist with tutoring, mentoring, and organizing educational activities.

‎Help with feeding programs, hygiene, and emotional support.

‎2. Community Development Volunteers

‎Participate in vocational training programs (e.g., juice-making, agriculture, mushroom farming).

‎Support community outreach, awareness campaigns, and sustainability projects.

‎4. Health & Welfare Volunteers

‎Provide first aid support, health awareness sessions, and guidance on nutrition.

‎3. Volunteer Recruitment Process

‎1. Application Submission – Volunteers submit an application form detailing skills, availability, and motivation.

‎4. Training & Capacity Building

‎Initial Orientation: Introduction to our organization, policies, child protection, and program goals.

‎Skill Development Workshops: Focused on teaching, mentorship, community project facilitation, or administrative skills.

‎Ongoing Support & Mentorship: Volunteers receive guidance, performance feedback, and periodic refresher sessions.

‎5. Roles & Responsibilities

‎Follow our policies and guidelines.

‎Assist in program implementation actively and responsibly.

‎Report activities, challenges, and successes to volunteer coordinators.


Activities & Shift

Volunteer Program – Daily Activities by Position

‎1. Child Support Volunteers

‎Purpose: To provide direct care, education, and encouragement to orphans and vulnerable children.
‎Daily Activities:

‎Morning: Assist children with morning routines (hygiene, breakfast, preparing for school).

‎Mid-morning: Help with school lessons, tutoring, or reading support.

‎Afternoon: Organize games, music, storytelling, or Bible study groups.

‎Evening: Support with homework, counseling sessions, and light chores.

‎Daily Record: Write a brief report on children’s progress and needs.

‎2. Community Development Volunteers

‎Purpose: To support skill-building and income-generating projects for families, youth, and women.
‎Daily Activities:

‎Morning: Assist with farm activities (mushroom farming, fruit/juice-making, chicken/fish rearing).

‎Mid-morning: Conduct or attend training workshops (entrepreneurship, vocational skills).

‎Afternoon: Help local families with community outreach programs (clean water, nutrition awareness, hygiene).

‎Evening: Organize community meetings or awareness sessions.

‎Daily Record: Document project outputs (produce harvested, people trained, etc.).

‎‎3. Health & Welfare Volunteers

‎Purpose: To promote health, hygiene, and wellness in the community.
‎Daily Activities:

‎Morning: Conduct health checks for children (temperature, general wellness, sanitation).

‎Mid-morning: Teach hygiene practices (handwashing, safe food handling).

‎Afternoon: Support feeding programs (ensuring balanced diet, clean preparation).

‎Evening: Provide health education talks (malaria prevention, maternal health, child care).

‎Daily Record: Track health challenges and refer serious cases to medical centers.
