Cleaning & Maintenance Volunteer

The experience

We are looking for a responsible volunteer to support our hostel with cleaning and light maintenance tasks. Your role will include helping keep common areas and rooms tidy, assisting with laundry, and ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable stay. In exchange, you’ll get accommodation, a welcoming community, and the beach lifestyle of Playa Venao.

What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Our volunteer program offers the opportunity to join our hostel family in Playa Venao. Volunteers in the cleaning & maintenance position help us keep the hostel in top shape, ensuring guests enjoy a clean and comfortable stay while experiencing the beach lifestyle and international community.

Activities & Shift

• Cleaning common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, rooftop).
• Changing bed sheets and helping with laundry.
• Light maintenance tasks if needed (fixing small things, organizing spaces).
• Around 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Rules

• Be punctual and responsible with tasks.
• Keep a positive and team-oriented attitude.
• Respect hostel rules: no drugs, no excessive alcohol during shifts.
• Help maintain a friendly and welcoming vibe for all guests.
