The experience

Be the night time receptionist, bar tender and do the cleaning shift, weekly rotation, always with support from our friendly team. Enjoy plenty of free time, meet travelers from around the world, and experience Rio like a local.

What you offer

26 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

What you get

4 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner Portuguese

Between 18 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Our volunteer program runs on a simple rotation system so everyone contributes a little bit of everything. You’ll support the nighttime reception, help at the bar preparing drinks and chatting with guests, and assist with light cleaning on specific days. We give clear guidance, and the environment is relaxed, social, and fun.

We value community energy — this is a place where volunteers, guests, and staff create a warm, collaborative atmosphere. Bring positivity and willingness to learn.

Activities & Shift

The night shift: man the reception desk on the graveyard shift.

Bar tender: make caipirinhas for thirsty young travellers.

Cleaning shift: clean the hostel on the cleaning lady's day off.
