The experience

🌿 The volunteer position at Time Travel – Ha Giang Loop is located directly within a weaving village in the mountains of Ha Giang. Volunteers live with local families in simple traditional houses, with outdoor bathrooms, close to the looms, fields, and shared community spaces — where daily work, learning, and cultural exchange take place.🌍✨


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 12 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: 💵 Contribution We ask for a 10 USD daily contribution to keep the project sustainable and fair for host families. This covers 3 local meals, shared homestay accommodation, basic utilities, and a small portion that is reinvested into the community to support farmers, improve homestays, and grow eco-tourism. 🌿✨

The program at Time Travel – Ha Giang Loop is a community-based volunteering experience focused on cultural preservation and sustainable development. Volunteers live with local weaving families, experience daily village life, support traditional textile production, teach basic English, and help connect handmade products to wider markets. The program emphasizes respect, cultural exchange, and long-term community growth.🌍✨


Activities & Shift

🛠 Activities (current phase)

As we are in the beginning stage of the project, volunteers mainly support with:

Light construction & setup: basic renovation, gardening, homestay preparation.

Eco-farming preparation: soil work, planting herbs/vegetables, mushroom farm setup.

Community support: simple English lessons for kids and farmers, cultural exchange.

Creative tasks: photos, videos, and online promotion ideas.

⏰ Shifts

5 hours per day, 6 days per week.

Work is flexible depending on farming cycles, weather, and community needs.

Sundays are usually free for rest, cultural activities, or exploring the mountains, caves, and waterfalls nearby.


Rules

📜 House Rules

Respect local culture and traditions: dress modestly, join community life with an open mind.

No drugs or excessive alcohol on site. Smoking only in designated areas.

Meals are shared with host families; please be on time and help with preparation/cleaning.

Keep spaces clean and tidy: homestay rooms, kitchen, bathroom, and common areas.

Energy & water use: please save electricity and water – resources are limited in the mountains.

Work commitment: 5 hours/day, 6 days/week – with flexibility depending on community needs.

Communication: let the coordinator know if you cannot join work on any day.

Safety: respect instructions during farming, construction, or outdoor activities.

Children & villagers: always be polite, patient, and supportive – you are a role model.

Leave a positive footprint: share knowledge, kindness, and ideas that help the village grow.
