How Our Volunteer Program Works

At Munjoh, volunteers are not just extra hands – you are part of the guest experience. As an Island Activities & Experience Host, you will spend your time between our two resorts: Munjoh Ocean Resort in Havelock, known for pristine beaches and snorkeling, and Munjoh Island House in Port Blair, rich with history, culture, and island stories.

You’ll be expected to work closely with our operations team and interface directly with guests. This requires professionalism, enthusiasm, and a real love for people. Your role goes beyond logistics – it’s about creating unforgettable moments and becoming a bridge between the islands and our guests.

Your contributions will include:

Leading or accompanying guests on snorkeling, kayaking or trekking adventures.

Hosting beach games, bonfires, parties, and social evenings.

Guiding nature walks and sharing cultural insights about the islands.

Capturing daily life through photos and videos for our content team.

Helping design fun, engaging itineraries for guests of different ages.

We look for volunteers who are:

Professional & guest-ready: Well-dressed, polite, attentive, and comfortable speaking in English.

Energetic & social: Natural hosts who bring warmth, humor, and excitement.

Doers, not waiters: Proactive people who don’t need constant instructions.

Responsible & reliable: Punctual, organized, and respectful of resort standards.

Nature-obsessed: Genuinely curious about wildlife, marine life, culture, and local history.

This program is structured but also creative. You will have flexibility to bring your own personality and ideas into activities, but within the professional framework of a running resort. Our team will train you on resort standards and safety so you can lead confidently.

Activities & Shift

Daily Activities & Shifts

Morning (7:00 – 11:00): Assist with snorkeling, kayaking, or island walks. Help guests prepare gear, ensure safety, and join activities to make them more engaging.

Afternoon (2:00 – 5:00): Lead nature or culture walks, beach games, or small group excursions. Share island stories, history, or wildlife insights.

Evening (7:00 – 10:00): Support/host social events – beach bonfires, movie nights, cultural sharing, or live music jams. Keep the atmosphere fun but respectful.

Photography/Content: Capture highlights of daily activities and guest moments for social media and resort content.

Flex Tasks: Support resort team when needed – setting up activities, checking logistics, or guest assistance.

Shifts & Expectations

Approx. 5–6 hours daily, split across morning, afternoon, and evening slots.

One full day off per week to explore the islands.

Volunteers must be energetic, punctual, and always guest-ready (neat, sober, professional).

Flexibility is key – some days may be heavier during guest check-ins or big events, lighter on others.
