Activities & Shift
The weekly workload is between 32 and 40 hours, with two days off each week. If you’re working in the kitchen, expect a mix of morning, afternoon, or evening shifts. Outside work hours, there’s plenty of time to explore — forest paths, rivers, rock formations, natural pools — and you’ll have access to our swimming pool, private gym, and optional staff meditations.
Rules
We serve three meals a day. Staff and volunteers are welcome to eat after all guests have started their meal.
Coffee, tea, and fresh fruit are available throughout the day. You may also take up to two soft drinks per day.
Towels, bed linen, shampoo, and shower gel are available in the laundry room.
If you’d like to go into town, a car may be available. For trips outside the local area, you may use a car if one is free, but please be aware that fuel and toll costs are yours to cover.
You must hold a valid driving licence and be insured to use a car.
Visitors are welcome during the day, but they may not stay overnight. If you’d like a guest to join for a meal, please check with manager.
The pool and gym are available to you. Please give priority to guests when using the pool. (The gym is for staff and volunteers only.)
If you'd like to use the Dhamma Hall for meditation, you're very welcome — please check availability with manager. This space is reserved exclusively for silent meditation practice.
Occasionally, you may be invited to join a class. Please remember to maintain a professional distance. As a volunteer or staff member, you are not a retreat participant, and we ask that you keep interactions with groups respectful and work-focused.
