Cooking, Housekeeping & Farming in a Tuscan Village
The experience
Join a family project in Castelnuovo D’Elsa, surrounded by Tuscan countryside. Volunteers support in cooking, housekeeping, house renovation, and farming. The place is in a peaceful village, with Castelfiorentino and Empoli as the nearest train stations and the Castello di Coiano nearby. A chance to live authentic rural Tuscany while contributing to daily life. *WE DONT SPEAK ENGLISH*
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate Italian or Intermediate Spanish
Over 20 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
Volunteer can have breakfast and lunch with the family. For dinner he/she should buy some food in the supermarket and can use the kitchen to cook.
Activities & Shift
Tasks to be performed:
For women:
Cleaning the house and the yard/garden
Cooking
Doing laundry
Sometimes small tasks in the vegetable garden, depending on the season
For men:
Helping my husband with small house renovation works
Organizing firewood in the garden for the fireplace
Cutting grass, etc.
Rules
We are busy with our church on weekend therefore volunteers can consider Saturday and Sunday their two free days. They can leave on friday evening and come back on sunday evening if they wish to explore the sourronded places (Lucca, Pisa, Firenze). In case they want to stay at home they can use the kitchen.
