Join us in making a difference in Vieques, Puerto Rico, an island where nearly half of the population lives in poverty. We’re looking for compassionate, proactive, and flexible volunteers to assist with daily tasks that directly impact the lives of local families✨
This is a hands-on opportunity where no two days are the same, and every contribution makes a real differenceđź’™
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Elderly Care:
Assisting and spending time with the elderly.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!
Free Events:
Get free entrance for the best events in town.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

High-speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish
Between 22 and 35 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
We are a small, grassroots nonprofit working at the heart of the community. As a volunteer, you’ll not only lend a hand in practical ways but also experience authentic island life, culture, and hospitality. 🌺
All tasks will be adapted to your skills and strengths, so you’ll feel both comfortable and challenged in a positive way. Whether you’re good with your hands, creative, or organized, there’s a place for you here.
Activities & Shift
Your role will be diverse and meaningful, involving both hands-on community work and organizational support. Depending on your skills and interests, you could:
Collect and deliver donated items to families in need đźšš
Clean and prepare donations so they’re ready to use ✨
Visit residents’ homes to listen, gather information, and assess their needs 🏡
Assist with light building, repairs, and household fixes (construction, plumbing, or electrical skills are a plus!) 🔨
Support local initiatives through surveys and community outreach đź“‹
Help with marketing, photography, and social media to share our mission 📸
Assist the manager with simple administrative tasks 🗂️
⏰ Approx. 25 hours per week (about 5 hours/day, 5 days a week)
🌴 2 days off to relax, explore Vieques’ beaches, or connect with locals.
Shifts are flexible and tasks will be distributed according to your skills and preferences.
