The experience

Come stay with us in Nairobi and be part of our family! ๐Ÿ’› Weโ€™re looking for friendly and respectful volunteers to help with simple household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and light housekeeping.

In exchange, youโ€™ll have:

What you offer

16 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: Weโ€™ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: Weโ€™ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Fluent Swahili or Fluent English

Over 18 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Activities & Shift

Volunteers join us in day-to-day tasks such as:

Keeping shared spaces clean & organized ๐Ÿงน
Helping in the kitchen or sharing your favorite recipes ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ
Light housekeeping (changing linens, tidying rooms) ๐Ÿ›๏ธ


โฐ Weekly Hours: ~16 hours per week (3โ€“4 hours a day, 4 days a week)
๐Ÿ“† Days Off: 3 flexible days off per week

Example Schedule:

Morning (2โ€“3 hrs): Light cleaning, cooking, or tidying shared areas

Afternoon/Evening: Free time to explore Nairobi, visit attractions, or enjoy cultural exchange with the host family


Rules

To keep a positive and safe environment, we kindly ask that volunteers:

Respect the family, house rules, and local culture ๐Ÿ™
Keep shared areas clean and tidy after use ๐Ÿงฝ
Avoid drugs and excessive alcohol ๐Ÿšซ
Respect quiet hours (especially at night) ๐ŸŒ™
Inform us if youโ€™ll be away overnight or returning late
