I spent almost 2 weeks at the host school, which turned out to be amazing. They took me on many trips to see ancient Tempels, rivers for a nice swim and little hikes in the mountains. I was super happy to connect with all the little monks and also bigger monks. It was my first time teaching, so I was a bit nervous but that faded away after literally 5 minutes of teaching. The food is spicy but delicious. Thank you for this beautiful opportunity to experience local life in the host Lanka and meeting such happy people.

Volunteering at the monastery has been such a memorable and special experience. The young monks are full of curiosity and kindness. I feel extremely lucky to enter a space, feeling so welcomed and looked out for. The teaching is simple and the students are very interested and willing. They are also so helpful. Be sure to be respectful and open to learning more about Buddhism, as we are going into their space. Thank you for having me! What a special way to end my time in the host Lanka :)

My stay there was really nice. I learned a lot about the culture and also some phrases of the language. The family a stayed was so welcoming and lovely.
