Multirole Volunteer – Maintenance, Bar & Kitchen Helper in Vallad

The experience

Do you like variety and learning new things? We’re looking for a Multirole Support Volunteer who can help us in different areas depending on the day’s needs.

Your main focus will be maintenance and small fixes around the hostel (painting, repairs, setup), but you’ll also have the chance to:

Jump behind the bar for support on busy nights 🍹

Help our team with simple food prep in the kitchen 🍲

Cover other hostel activities when needed 🎉

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 20 and 33 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

✅ Daily Activity Checklist

Light maintenance & repairs (painting, fixing, DIY tasks).

Set up common spaces and assist in improvements.

Support bartenders during peak hours (serving drinks, cleaning glasses).

Help kitchen staff with easy food prep (cutting, plating, cleaning).

Be ready to cover or support other volunteers if needed.

Activities & Shift

🕒 Schedule

~22 hours/week, flexible based on needs.

5 days on / 2 days off.

Mix of afternoon/evening shifts (never late night).

📝 House Rules for Worldpackers at New Friends Hostel

To keep our hostel safe, fun, and respectful for everyone, we ask all volunteers to follow these simple rules:

🍺 No outside alcohol—we have our own bar with affordable drinks and special discount for volunteers (same as stores).

🚫 No unauthorized visitors inside dorms or staff areas.

🤝 Respect is key—no harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.

🕒 Be on time for your shifts and communicate if something comes up.

🛏️ Respect hostel spaces—keep common areas tidy and noise levels friendly after quiet hours.
