The experience

Join us in Hukumeizi, a wild eco-hotel in the Sierra Nevada. We need extra hands to welcome guests at check-in/out, help in the kitchen and bar, and sometimes guide hikes or tours. If you love people, nature, and sharing culture, this is for you. We offer 3 meals a day, a cozy stay, and the chance to connect with locals and travelers in one of Colombia’s most magical places.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Tour Guide: Organize and lead tours around the city.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English and Fluent Spanish

Between 25 and 35 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Hukumeizi is a wild eco-hotel hidden in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. We live close to the river and the jungle, and everything runs on the rhythm of nature. Volunteers are part of our family: you’ll help us welcome guests, support in the kitchen, join hikes, and share moments with people from all over the world. In exchange, we offer 3 meals a day, a comfortable stay, and the chance to connect deeply with the Sierra and its people.


Activities & Shift

• Help with guest check-in and check-out
• Support in the kitchen (basic prep, serving, washing up)
• Assist at the bar
• Join and guide guests on hikes or local tours
• Keep common spaces organized and welcoming

Shifts are around 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with flexible time to enjoy the river, nature, and the community.
