Are you ready to make a real impact? πŸ’‘ This community project empowers vulnerable families with the skills and tools they need to start and maintain small businesses. A key part of our mission is teaching English, opening doors to new opportunities and connecting our youth with the world. 🌎✨


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Elderly Care: Assisting and spending time with the elderly.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 20 Per week

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: We kindly ask for a contribution of 20 USD per week πŸ™. This helps us cover food, local transportation (fuel), and materials needed for the activities. Your support ensures the project can run smoothly while creating a positive impact for the families we work with πŸ’š.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Intermediate Portuguese

Under 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

We are a grassroots initiative supporting low-income families and youth in disadvantaged neighborhoods of Maputo Province. Many young people dream of learning English but cannot afford formal schools. By joining us, you’ll be part of a movement that promotes education, entrepreneurship, and hope for a better future. 🌱πŸ’ͺ

This is more than volunteering β€” it’s cultural immersion, meaningful exchange, and an opportunity to touch lives while learning from the resilience and creativity of the local community.


Activities & Shift

πŸ“š Teach basic or conversational English to children, youth, and adults
πŸ’‘ Support workshops for small business creation & income generation
🀝 Mentor and encourage families to develop their own projects
πŸ› οΈ Assist in community events or organizational tasks when needed

Schedule: Volunteers usually help from 9:00–12:00 or 14:00–16:00. Weekends are free to explore Maputo’s vibrant culture, food, and music. 🎢🌍
