Community Outreach &Teaching Support for Kid’s Education


The experience

Join us in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to support orphaned and vulnerable children with love, care, and learning in our Day Care Center. Volunteers help 4–5 hours a day with childcare, play, creative activities, and light cleaning. No special skills—just kindness and patience! Weekends are free to explore local beaches and culture. A $10/day contribution covers meals, accommodation, and daycare maintenance.


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 15 Per day

Fee pays for: Donation to project

Description: -Three daily meals (fruits, local and healthy food). -Accommodation and utilities (electricity, water, internet). -Some basic needs for the kids.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Join us in making a real difference for children in our community.
As a volunteer, you’ll help to organize and distribute center stationary directly to kids and ensuring every child has the tools they need to grow.
You’ll also assist with simple class room activities, reading sessions and creative learning projects, making education more engaging and fun.
Your role will combine community outreach visiting families to understand their needs with hands on support inside the center/school, where you’ll see your efforts impact the children directly.


Activities & Shift

Activities
Caring for babies and young children (feeding, playtime, storytelling).
Supporting learning activities (songs, games, art, simple lessons).
Light cleaning and helping keep the daycare safe.
Organizing and packing school stationary kits
Delivering supplies to children at the school
Assisting in teaching various subjects with local teachers
Supporting reading circles and homework sessions.
Leading creative activities like arts, songs and story telling.
Talking with families about importance of education.
Sharing your own skills (music, language, creativity, etc.)

Shifts:
4–5 hours/day, Monday to Friday
Mornings: childcare & play
Afternoons: creative learning or light cleaning
Weekends: free to explore beaches, markets, and culture


Rules

No alcohol or smoking while school/ center ground.
