Join us for an unforgettable nautical experience on the stunning waters of Rio de Janeiro. Imagine sailing across Guanabara Bay ⛵, with breathtaking views of Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer while being part of a vibrant, multicultural crew.
This is more than volunteering — it’s about living life aboard a sailboat, creating unique experiences for guests, and discovering Rio from a whole new perspective.
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Tour Guide:
Organize and lead tours around the city.
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Reception:
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
Bartending:
Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.
What you get
3 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate Portuguese

Learn Sailing Skills: Get hands-on training in the basics of sailing under the guidance of experienced captains (not a certified course, but real-life practical learning!).
Cultural Exchange: Practice and improve languages like English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, or German while interacting with international guests.
Creative Opportunities: If you’re into photography, videography, or digital media, you can capture epic moments 🌅📸 and help us boost our social media — building your portfolio while making a difference.

Activities & Shift
As an onboard host, you’ll:
-Welcome guests and ensure they feel at home 💙
-Assist the captain with basic sailing operations 🪢
-Serve drinks/snacks and create a fun, safe atmosphere 🍹
-Help with boat organization and cleanliness ⚓
🕐 Schedule:
-Tours run 10 AM – 1 PM or 3 PM – 6 PM.
-Prep starts 1.5 hours before each tour.
20 hours per week, with 3 days off to enjoy Rio at your own pace.
Rules
To keep life smooth on board:
-Your weekly schedule will be shared at least 42 hours in advance.
-You’ll always have 3 full days off per week.
-On working days, shifts are only half-days (morning or afternoon).
-Please be mindful of water consumption 🚿💧 onboard.
-Keep your private cabin clean, organized, and comfortable.
