The experience

We’re looking for a responsible and friendly Night Shift volunteer to join our hostel in Santa Teresa, Rio! You’ll work 4 nights per week (10 PM – 7 AM) with 3 days off to enjoy the city. Your role is to keep the hostel safe, quiet, and organized, assist late check-ins, and support guests overnight. Perfect for someone reliable, calm, and proactive who wants free days to explore Rio while being part of a fun international community.


What you offer

Program Details

We’re looking for a reliable, calm, and attentive volunteer to join our team as Night Shift Host at our top-rated hostel in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro. You’ll work 4 nights per week from 10 PM to 7 AM, with 3 full days off to enjoy the city.

Your main role is to keep the hostel safe, organized, and welcoming overnight. You’ll be responsible for late check-ins, assisting guests with basic needs, monitoring quiet hours, and making sure everything runs smoothly until the morning. This position is ideal for someone responsible and proactive who enjoys being part of a young, international community while having free time during the day to explore Rio.


Activities & Shift

Supervise the hostel during the night to ensure safety and order.

Welcome and assist guests arriving late or leaving early.

Provide basic support to guests (questions, requests, emergencies).

Monitor and enforce quiet hours so everyone can rest.

Keep reception and common areas clean, organized, and ready for the morning.

Report incidents, emergencies, or maintenance issues to the manager.

Shifts: 4 nights per week, 10 PM – 7 AM, with 3 days off.


Rules

Punctuality is essential — shifts start at 10 PM and end at 7 AM.

No alcohol or drugs during working hours.

Maintain a calm, professional, and approachable attitude.

Respect hostel policies and ensure guests do the same.

Handle emergencies responsibly and report them immediately.

Keep reception and common areas tidy and quiet.

Be discreet and respectful with guests’ privacy and personal data.
