Program Details

We’re a small family living in the beautiful Soča Valley, next to the Soča River in the foothills of the Julian Alps, near Tolmin. Our curious 3-year-old loves meeting new people, and we enjoy sharing our daily life with guests from around the world. We host only cultural exchanges—never formal work—focused on mutual learning, creativity, and cultural sharing.

I’m a maker, designer, and artist who loves exploring all forms of art, design, and hands-on projects. Guests with skills in woodworking, metalworking, 3D design, computer work, or any creative craft are especially welcome, as we’ll have lots to share and discuss.

Daily life here includes paragliding, climbing, walking, and spending time in nature, but each day can vary depending on the guest’s interests and what creative projects we’re exploring—garden structures, house restoration, or other art and design projects.

We believe cultural exchange is about learning, sharing, and creating together. This experience is flexible, fun, and fully in line with local rules, offering a safe space to connect, learn, and grow as a family and community.

It is possible to do a cultural exchange if your 3 third nation.. but please don't ask me to sort visas out.. we only do cultural exchanges..no volunteering or paid work either way..

Activities & Shift

Activities:

Guests participate in shared creative projects, including art and design, garden work, building structures, or light restoration. All activities focus on learning, exchanging skills, and exploring creativity together. Each day varies depending on interests and what we’re focusing on.

There are no fixed hours. Guests join activities flexibly, contributing as part of a cultural exchange, not as formal labor. The schedule adapts to everyone’s interests, allowing for mutual learning and enjoyment.

Rules

We host only cultural exchanges—volunteering or unpaid work is not permitted under Slovenian law. Guests join us to share daily life, skills, creativity, and ideas in a flexible and learning-focused environment. A short agreement sets expectations and ensures everyone understands the cultural exchange framework. Registration at the local police station within 72 hours of arrival is required. For the comfort and safety of all, no drugs or heavy drinking are allowed.
