Program Details

We are a creative restaurant and art space in Vieques, surrounded by lush nature. We’re looking for volunteers to help us expand our existing garden and create an edible orchard from scratch — growing herbs, vegetables, and fruit trees for our kitchen. This is a chance to get your hands in the soil, connect with the land, and contribute to a sustainable food project that directly nourishes our guests.

Activities & Shift

-Maintain and expand our garden.
-Design and develop a new orchard and vegetable plots.
- Preparing soil and planting herbs, vegetables, and fruit plants.
- Watering, pruning, and maintaining garden beds.
- Collecting and organizing natural materials like compost, soil, or mulch.
- Helping with other small projects related to landscaping or creative outdoor design.
- Occasionally assisting with light restaurant tasks when needed (we’re a small team).

Rules

Volunteers stay in a shared house with other participants, and everyone is expected to help keep the common spaces clean and organized. Respect and good communication are essential.

This position requires independence and initiative. You’ll receive orientation and guidance, but daily tasks will be done mostly on your own. You should feel comfortable using basic tools and working outdoors under the sun.

Expectations:
• Follow safety and care guidelines when using tools and handling plants.
• Keep garden tools and materials clean and stored properly after use.
• Respect the natural space — do not cut or move plants without approval.
• Work calmly, mindfully, and efficiently — this is hands-on physical work.
• Be punctual for meal times and shift hours.
• No smoking, drugs, or excessive drinking on the property.
• Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm.

What you can expect:
You’ll be part of a creative, nature-centered environment where your work directly impacts the experience of our guests. You’ll learn about tropical plants, soil care, and sustainable practices while enjoying a peaceful rhythm of life in Vieques.

This is a true exchange — we value volunteers who bring dedication, curiosity, and positive energy to help Cundeamor grow, literally and spiritually.
