The experience

ONLY for Volunteers with a Working Holiday Visa in Japan.

Join us at Kotori Coworking & Hostel in the charming town of Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture — famous for the historic Kompira Shrine, vibrant local festivals, and a welcoming community.
We’re looking for friendly and motivated helpers to be part of our small team. You’ll assist with daily hostel tasks, interact with travelers from around the world, and have plenty of time to explore the area


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English and Beginner Japanese

Between 20 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

At Kotori Coworking & Hostel Kotohira, we welcome travelers from all over the world to stay, work, and connect in our historic yet cozy town. We’re looking for friendly and responsible volunteers who can help us keep our hostel running smoothly while enjoying an authentic experience of small-town Japan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Help with daily hostel tasks such as cleaning guest rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
- Assist at reception with check-ins/check-outs and welcoming guests.
- Lend a hand with organizing storage, light maintenance, or hostel events when needed.
- Bring a positive attitude, be respectful to guests and other team members, and be willing to pitch in where help is needed.
