The experience

Hello! We are searching for young people who are interested in collaborate with us in our family café. Our concept is to offer a place where parents with their small children may relax and enjoy high quality pastries and meals. The children are free to move around and to play, so everybody who comes to our place knows what to expect. Knowledge in pastries would be great to have and of course love for children!

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate German or Beginner Spanish

Between 18 and 30 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Bolivia

European Union Passport

Program Details

Our café is a place to offer a room for parents - mostly mothers - and their (little) children to come, meet and relay without needing to worry that their children may disturb other guests. At the same time we are offering high quality (mostly Austrian / Viennese) pastries, sandwiches, pizzas and beverages. We do not offer alcohol nor any carbonated soft drinks. This is how we attract very nice and educated people and fantastic children.

Activities & Shift

You will be helping in our kitchen with preparing sandwiches, juices and making pastries - maybe you want to bring your own recipes! You may also want to learn how to make a great Cappuccino from our Barrista Don Ariel, help with serving the dishes and drinks, conversing with our guests and having an eye or sometimes both eyes on the children.
We have a very nice cleaning lady, so this will not be your task, except of course helping with the normal daily tiding up and cleaning when we close the café (The café closes at 20:30, at 21:00 we normally are ready).
You will have your own private bedroom. It is rather small but clean with a sofa bed, a topper mattress for extra comfort, a closet and a small writing desk. The bath room with warm water and shower is half-private. During café opening hours (16:00 to 20:30) it may occur that guests will use it - but normally they use the other restroom which is much nearer. Of course you can always use the café for reading or working or just simply enjoying a coffee. You may use the kitchen at any time for preparing yourself a meal. However, we will have probably most of the meals together.

Rules

There is no smoking nor indoors or outdoors. Our guests are clean, educated and almost always well dressed people, so we all need to behave and dress appropriately.
