The experience
Arcade Resort Okinawa (ARO) is a unique hotel located in a historic shopping arcade in Koza, Okinawa. We're turning the entire neighborhood into part of the guest experience — and we need your help!
Your tasks may include cleaning rooms, assisting with check-ins, creating social media content, and connecting with local businesses. Work is around 4–5 hours a day, and you’ll have the rest of the time to explore and enjoy Okinawa.
What you offer
16 hours of help per week
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Housekeeping:
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
What you get
3 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Intermediate English or Beginner Japanese
Between 20 and 40 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
At Arcade Resort Okinawa (ARO), we're creating a new style of travel that blends local living and cultural discovery. Located in the heart of Koza's retro arcade street, ARO offers guests both private hostel comfort and a connection to Okinawan life.
As a volunteer, you'll help keep the space welcoming and clean, and can also get involved with creative tasks like social media or community events.
Perfect for digital nomads — you’ll have access to a coworking space and plenty of time to enjoy or work while immersed in a unique, vibrant neighborhood.
Activities & Shift
Light housekeeping (cleaning rooms and common areas, changing linens)
Preparing guest rooms before check-in
Guest communication or check-in assistance (optional)
Creating photos/videos for social media (optional)
Helping with occasional local events or community projects
Working hours: About 4–5 hours/day, 5 days/week. Days off are flexible.
Rules
Keep the space tidy and clean for both guests and fellow volunteers
Be kind and respectful to all guests, whether local or international
Observe quiet hours during nighttime
Follow basic safety and hygiene guidelines
Feel free to ask the staff for help or share concerns
