The experience

Welcome to Wadi Rum! 🌄 Our volunteer camp is a space to connect with people, live like a local, and enjoy the desert lifestyle. Here it’s not just about work — it’s about creating memories. You’ll help with light camp duties, share stories, and experience true Bedouin hospitality.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Arabic

Between 18 and 30 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

You’ll be part of our family, assisting with small daily tasks while enjoying plenty of free time to explore. Perfect for travelers who want cultural immersion, teamwork, and adventure in the desert. Accommodation is simple but cozy, meals are provided, and the desert itself will be your playground.

Activities & Shift

Assist with light camp duties (cleaning, tidying, helping guests)

Help with meals 🍲 and keeping shared spaces organized

Support small maintenance tasks around the camp 🛠️

Share stories and cultural exchange with locals & travelers

Approx. 25h/week with flexible shifts

Free time: Desert walks, tea by the fire, camel rides 🐪, stargazing 🌌, or simply relaxing in the silence of the desert.
