The experience
Looking to make San Cristobal a place you call home? Think you have the personality to take charge and have others follow in your direction? Maybe you have even thought of setting up your own hostel or tourism business?
We are looking to train and provide this rare opportunity of Head Volunteer where you experience managing others and money to improve your travels. You will work closely with the owners of the hostel.
Minimum 2 months required.
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Administration:
Help with booking systems and payments.
Reception:
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
Bartending:
Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Fluent English or Fluent Spanish
Over 22 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
Head Volunteer will support owners in helping us produce the best hostel in San Cristobal. We will together shape the identity and guest experience of each traveller in a clean and liveable to a condition that stimulates extensions.

Can communicate and translate between English and Spanish

Diligent and consistent
Activities & Shift
The head volunteer will have some reception shifts during the week and will help with the training and development of other volunteers during their time here after you have gained confidence. These shifts will last approximately 4 hours.
Outside of reception duties, you will have a pivotal role in helping the team stay on track and hit our goals. This could involve spontaneous events where we need to ask you questions or help from time to time.
There will be consistently available communication to provide you an opportunity to lead in the leadership group helping boost communication and providing a fresh idea on how things can be enhanced.
To excel in this position, you do not need special experience. We are looking for the person with the right attitude to make sure things that need to be done are completed.
