The experience

The ideal candidate will develop and manage compelling content that showcases our turtle conservation program's daily operations, including turtle cleaning, feeding routines, and rehabilitation efforts. You'll capture and share the meaningful work of our community projects while crafting engaging posts, stories, and videos designed to attract and inspire international volunteers to join our cause.

What you offer

12 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 45 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: As a non-profit organization, we do not generate profit from this fee . it is solely intended to sustain the logistical and operational aspects of hosting international volunteers while ensuring they have a safe, comfortable, and enriching experience. This contribution also helps us maintain our community projects and continue serving local needs effectively.

Program Details

Create, schedule, and publish engaging content on platforms such as Instagram,
Facebook, and TikTok that showcases our turtle conservation work

Promote ongoing volunteer programs and share success stories that inspire others to join our mission

Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, providing information about our programs and volunteer opportunities

Grow our social media audience and increase follower engagement through strategic content planning and community interaction

Collaborate with the team to capture authentic photos and videos from the field, documenting daily turtle care activities, conservation efforts, and volunteer experiences

Assist with hands-on turtle conservation work, including cleaning tanks, feeding turtles, and supporting rehabilitation efforts

Develop content calendars that highlight program milestones, educational information, and behind-the-scenes moments

Monitor social media analytics to optimize content performance and reach

Share all media and content with the organization for archival and promotional purposes
Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across all platforms

Activities & Shift

As a Social Media Promoter for our volunteer organization, you will work four days a week to create, schedule, and share engaging content across our social media platforms to raise awareness and attract volunteers.

Your tasks include managing posts about ongoing projects, volunteer stories, and upcoming events; interacting with followers by responding to comments and messages; monitoring social media trends and analytics to optimize reach; and collaborating with the team to develop promotional campaigns. You will also document volunteer activities through photos and videos to keep our audience connected and informed.

With three days off each week, you have ample time to explore and enjoy the rich culture and natural beauty of Sri Lanka, balancing work with personal enrichment.

Rules

Volunteers are expected not to smoke or drink alcohol in the homestay accommodations.
They should show respect to their fellow volunteers and host families, and always follow the laws and cultural rules of Sri Lanka.
