The experience

We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life.
In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life.
You will meet people from all over the world, discover traditions, learn work skills, and practice community.


What you offer

6 hours of help per day

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English

Between 18 and 33 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

We are not specifically asking for knowledge but for motivation and interest as we can help you learn !

On average we are available for work six hours per day. Five days per week (weekend off). Depending on the time of year and the jobs that need to be done. Sometimes we work weekends and take other days off.
Spending time with us is not like working on any other community or farm type job.
Meals are included : up to 4 times a day ! (breakfast, tea-break, lunch, dinner). 5 days per week! Weekends you help your self to food when you want it.
We eat fish, but we don't eat meat. No worries, the meals are often amazing !! (= world food !)
If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will be welcome.


Activities & Shift

We supply waterproof clothes for dirty jobs or for when it is raining. We have waterproof boots, but you may still want to bring your own working shoes. (Normally these would be boots that you would use for hiking).
Dress, Like you, would if you went camping or hiking in the mountains. Sometimes it's wet, sometimes it's cold and sometimes it is sunny. Imagine camping in Brittany in the spring.
Sometimes you may wish to wear something nice to go to the pub.

Life :
We have WiFi and TV plus an old guitar.
Washing machine and a hairdryer that you can use.
We have bedding, sheets, and towels.

Arrivals and departures:.
We only accept arrivals on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday between the hours of 5pm to 10pm.
