The experience

We’re building a shaded outdoor area at our café and art gallery in Vieques, Puerto Rico — a space where we can serve food, and host creative workshops. We’re looking for volunteers with hands-on or construction skills to help with creative and outdoor projects at our restaurant and art space in Vieques. Tasks include building, repairing, painting, or decorating structures like pergolas, garden areas, or furniture. Must work independently.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: Volunteers contribute $10 per day for food and maintenance

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

United States visa or citizenship

Program Details

We’re currently transforming our outdoor café and garden into a beautiful, shaded space to host events, serve food, and offer creative workshops. Volunteers will join us in building wooden pergolas, planting and transplanting, decorating, and co-creating a space that blends nature, art, and community. We’re located on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico — peaceful, tropical, and full of charm. We value creativity, respect, and collaboration.

Activities & Shift

Activities may include:
– Light construction (mainly working with wood)
– Transplanting and caring for plants
– Gardening and watering
– Organizing and decorating outdoor areas
– Helping with occasional events or workshops

Rules

- Be respectful with the space, the people, and the community
– Clean up after yourself and care for the tools/materials used
– No smoking in work areas
– Open and honest communication is key
