The experience

We’re building a shaded outdoor area at our café and art gallery in Vieques, Puerto Rico — a space where we can serve coffee, food, and host creative workshops surrounded by nature.
Tasks include light construction, gardening, transplanting plants, decorating, and redesigning outdoor spaces with love and intention. This is a great opportunity for creative, nature-loving people who enjoy working with their hands.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: Volunteers contribute $10 per day for food and maintenance

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Beginner Spanish or Beginner English

Over 21 years old

Program Details

We’re currently transforming our outdoor café and garden into a beautiful, shaded space to host events, serve food, and offer creative workshops. Volunteers will join us in building wooden pergolas, planting and transplanting, decorating, and co-creating a space that blends nature, art, and community. We’re located on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico — peaceful, tropical, and full of charm. We value creativity, respect, and collaboration.

Activities & Shift

Activities may include:
– Light construction (mainly working with wood)
– Transplanting and caring for plants
– Gardening and watering
– Organizing and decorating outdoor areas
– Helping with occasional events or workshops
- Painting
- Cleaning
Shifts are usually in the morning, 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week. You’ll have afternoons and two full days off to explore the island or just relax.

- Be respectful with the space, the people, and the community
– Clean up after yourself and care for the tools/materials used
– No smoking in work areas
– Open and honest communication is key
