My time with Volpro was very special and I won't forget this amazing experience. I would highly recommend this programme to any traveller who is looking to immerse themselves in authentic Javanese culture and meet the most amazing people! You are welcomed in to the home of Mukhlis who lives with Sri, Mae, Pae, Faiz and little Arsha :) Plus the extended family who will embrace you as one of their own. I can't thank them enough for the time I spent out there. Expect daily trips to waterfalls, local festivals and family gatherings. Also the food is incredible so make sure you are hungry !!!

I had a great volunteer experience over the 2 weeks and was sorry to leave. I was welcomed as part of the household by Mukhlis, his wife and family. the project staff were also great especially Monica and Putri who were always there to support me. All of the students at Mr Mukhlis' schools, the project Al-Farisi, as well as the public schools and private Islamic schools I taught at were curious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. I was treated like royalty; the students excited to meet me, take pictures with me, and even ask for my autograph. I will treasure the memories of my time in Nganjuk.

My experience in Nganjuk with the project was amazing! If you're a traveler looking to connect with the heart of Java and experience the warmth of the locals in Indonesia, while helping students improve their English, this is the perfect place. For two months, I lived with an Indonesian family, learned invaluable lessons, and created memories that I will cherish forever. I want to extend a special thanks to Mr. Mukhlis, one of the best persons I've ever met, kind-hearted and with a giant heart. A part of my heart will always remain in Nganjuk, I hope to return in the future! Endless thanks!

I had a nice time here. I must say that care for volunteers is something i have never seen before. Mr Mukhlis really tries to give you an authentic experience of the village and city and Javanese culture. On the other hand i didn't take part in many classes as a teacher. So i wouldn't say i fulfilled my role as a volunteer. You do spend some time doing promotions, making different videos and taking pictures. It depends on a person, if you like to have a chill schedule and rest a lot, while exploring the culture try it in the project :)))
