Why This Project Matters:
While Karonga has made progress in recent years, many people here still face challenges accessing education, vocational training, and safe spaces for learning and gathering. Right now, women meet under trees for group activities, children lack access to books and after-school support, and youth have no space to develop skills or engage in positive recreation.
That's why we've launched this project: to build a community-driven Resource Centre that provides:
• A library and study area for children to grow in literacy and creativity
• Vocational training rooms for youth to learn trades like carpentry, tailoring, or entrepreneurship
• A safe, inspiring place for women's groups to meet, learn income-generating skills (like baking or knitting), and support each other
• Space for community meetings, workshops, and cultural events
Opportunities for people to learn, connect, and lead change in their own communities
We’ve already secured the land and started laying the foundation now we need your help to bring this vision to life.
