What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 14 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: Volunteers contribute R265 per day to cover costs of food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Program Details

Kruger Park Hostel is a social, laid-back backpackers right on the edge of the world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. We welcome travelers from all over the globe and offer unforgettable safari experiences, good vibes, and a taste of life in the African bush.

As a volunteer, you’ll become part of our small, friendly team and help create a warm, fun atmosphere for guests. Your main tasks will be reception and bar-related, but the real magic is in connecting with people and enjoying the wild surroundings.

You’ll have time to explore the area, join game drives, meet people from around the world, and experience daily life in one of the most unique locations on Earth.

This program is perfect for someone who’s:

Social, helpful, and positive

Comfortable using a computer to manage bookings

Happy to interact with guests and help organize fun events

Flexible and willing to help where needed

Come live where zebras, the braai is always hot, and the sunsets are next level. You won’t just be volunteering you’ll be part of the family.

Activities & Shift

You’ll work 6 hours a day, usually from 15:30 to 21:30, with a 1-hour dinner break from 19:30 to 20:30. This is when things are a bit busier at reception and the bar is buzzing—perfect time to meet people and keep the vibe alive.

Schedules can shift a little depending on what’s happening at the hostel (we roll with the rhythm of the bush), but that’s the general idea.

As a volunteer, you also get to join all our daily tours for free (park entry fees not included for all tours). This is a great chance to explore the savanna, experience local culture, and make the most of your time here!

Rules

We don’t have many rules here it’s like a family environment. We just want you to have the best time and make the guests feel welcome. Take care of the hostel like it’s your own home. We have something very special here, and we’d love for you to be a part of it and learn about nature with us!
