The experience

Eco Caminhos is a permaculture-based eco farm in Nova Friburgo, Brazil. The project focuses on sustainable living through bioconstruction, agroforestry, community development, and education. Volunteers join an international team working on projects that integrate modern web communication with hands-on ecological practices and rural life.


What you offer

Eco Caminhos is a permaculture-based eco farm in Nova Friburgo, Brazil. The project focuses on sustainable living through bioconstruction, agroforestry, community development, and education. Volunteers join an international team working on projects that integrate modern web communication with hands-on ecological practices and rural life.

We are seeking a Volunteer Web Developer/Designer enthusiastic about sustainability to help advance the online presence and organizational communication of Eco Caminhos. Volunteers will work primarily with WordPress and contribute to both ongoing and upcoming web projects, notably improving our main website.


Activities & Shift

Main Responsibilities
Enhance and update the Eco Caminhos website: Optimize UX, maintain and update information about the farm’s ongoing projects and initiatives.

Design and develop a dedicated website for the Ecolibrium project.

Manage WordPress installation, updates, themes, and plugins.

Ensure website security, backups, and performance.

Implement SEO strategies and improve site accessibility.

Create visual content for web and social media.

Collaborate with our communications team on content strategy and storytelling.

Help train other volunteers or staff in basic website management.

Document processes, best practices, and technical setups.

Desired Skills & Experience
Familiarity with WordPress and website building/management.

Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic PHP.

Experience with SEO, analytics, and content strategy a plus.

Visual design or graphic editing skills desired.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Strong self-management and motivation.

Alignment with sustainable or permaculture values (no prior farm experience required).

Bonus Skills:

Video production or editing experience.

Basic Portuguese (willingness to learn counts).
