Teaching in Empowerment Centers for Smabhali

Volunteering at the organization was a unique and valuable experience. Seeing the support they provide to women, children, and gender minorities—and hearing their stories—was truly eye-opening and inspiring. The community was incredibly welcoming, and the homestay was beautiful. One thing to note: room prices vary, which wasn't mentioned to us beforehand, so we were surprised at checkout. However, everything was resolved fairly and respectfully. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to contribute their skills while gaining a deeper perspective on Indian community life.

We had an incredible time volunteering at the organization and met some amazing people who made a lasting impression - connecting with women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community and learning about the organization's impactful work. Initially, we applied for the social media role, however, we were asked to teach at the centres. Although unexpected, teaching was insightful and rewarding. Govind was open to our interest in social media, and after discussing it, he accommodated our request. Clearer guidelines on female volunteer attire and accommodation pricing and allocation would be helpful.

Volunteering at the organization for a month was a challenging but really fulfilling experience. I learnt a lot from being around the women at my empowerment centre; both the women and the teachers at my centre were really welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable & teach me about their culture🌺 The teaching requires some persevere & creativity, but if you approach it with love & patience it is very well received :) Accommodation was very beautiful, but the cheapest option doesn't have air-con which you should budget for if you are volunteering when it is hot in Jodhpur🙏

The organization was an experience that triggered a lot of learning in me. I am very grateful to Govind and for all his support. I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people during my stay. The accommodation, the food are great too. Thank you the organization

I've been working at the organization for more than a month and it has been an unforgettable experience. This voluntering project is the opportunity to really dive in the indian society to understand its culture and challenges at a deeper level. the organization actively works for underprivileged people to provide them education and support for a better future so, because of the wide range of area they are working on, the job opportunities are also wide and everyone can add their pinch of salt to help the women and children. Also, the staff is taking care of volunteer in a incredible way! Thank you all! ❤️

I think you need to be very clear about hours. When I started I was asked to do twice the 20 hours advertised, and asked to go to centres etc which would have taken up the entire day. The pricing also hadn't been updated to reflect the new cost of the guesthouse, so I also had to renegotiate this at the end. Please bear in mind that the fee is essentially rent and meals. The work the organization does is good and I felt there was an opportunity to make an impact. But it also didn't feel like a conventional worldpackers experience.

It was a great experience, I would recommend this volunteering to anyone who is interested in getting to know the Rajisthani culture and having a social impact in the community. Host is very welcoming and you will feel like home when getting there!

My stay in the organization has been the most enriching and life-changing experience of my life. I had no expectations at all, my task was providing both Maths and English lessons to Indian students who had few or non other chance to study at any other educational center, and eventually, I was the one who has learnt the most. Since the very beginning I'd felt the warmth of a family, either by Govind and women, the other volunteers or the workers at the guest house. The students and teachers are incredibly shiny souls :) I came back to my country as a stronger, more mature and critical person

The project is amazing and the public, women and children, something that I will never forget. I enjoyed a lot to be part of it, share a bit of my knowlegde and help then somehow. Govind is a very nice person and we were able share a lot about the organization and Indian culture. Just make sure about everything before get to the place, make agreement about the type of accomodation, loundry and meals, just to be sure.
