Program Details
Our volunteer program at Ti Thong Hostel offers travelers the opportunity to contribute to our sustainable hospitality operation while gaining valuable experience. As a Gardener Volunteer, you'll work alongside our team to maintain beautiful outdoor spaces that enhance our guests' experience. We provide accommodation, meals, and a supportive international community environment. This program is ideal for those interested in horticulture, sustainable tourism, and cultural exchange. You'll learn about local plants, gardening techniques, and hospitality operations while making lasting connections with fellow travelers and staff.
Activities & Shift
Daily gardening activities include watering plants, pruning, weeding, and general plant care around the hostel grounds. You'll work approximately 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, typically during cooler morning hours (7:00 AM - 12:00 PM). Tasks may include replanting, soil preparation, pest control, and seasonal garden maintenance. Occasional decorative projects like arranging planters or creating garden displays are also part of the role. Weekend shifts are flexible, and you'll have time to explore the local area. We provide all necessary tools and equipment.
Rules
Volunteers must commit to a minimum 2-week stay. Punctuality and reliability are essential - gardening tasks are weather-dependent and time-sensitive. Respect for plants, tools, and common areas is required. No alcohol or substance use during work hours. Volunteers should maintain cleanliness in shared spaces and follow hostel quiet hours (10 PM - 7 AM). We expect open communication about any issues or concerns. Volunteers must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and should inform us of any plant allergies or physical limitations beforehand.
