The experience

Nepal is a country where gender discrimination still exists—especially between sons and daughters. Although it has improved over time, many women still depend entirely on their husband's income. Without their own earnings, they often face, disrespect, or even abuse from their spouse or family.
To help change this, we offer free sewing and knitting training for women. Our goal is to empower them to become independent, self-reliant, and confident.


What you offer

3 hours of help per day

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 6 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers donate 6 USD per day to help the sewing and knitting project and for the private room, bathroom and two meals a day. They are also free to use our kitchen whenever.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

This project is located in Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most beautiful cities.

To help change this, we offer free sewing and knitting training for women. Our goal is to empower them to become independent, self-reliant, and confident.
We have a plan to train as many women in need as possible, but for this, we truly need your active support.
Together, we can create a safe, meaningful, and enjoyable working environment where positive change begins.


Activities & Shift

8:00 AM – Wake up
9:00 AM – If you’d like, you can help the family with cooking
10:00 AM – Have breakfast
11:00 AM – Go to the training hall
11:00 AM to 2:00 PM – Stay there and teach sewing skills or anything you know
Also, work on the website or help in finding sponsors
After 2:00 PM – Free time to do whatever you like
Evening – Help the family prepare dinner
9:00 PM – Eat dinner together with the family, chat a little
If you'd like, you can also go for a night walk with the family.


Rules

Support trainer and learners during sessions.

Share sewing/knitting skills if you have any.

Encourage and guide participants patiently.

Help with setup, cleaning, and organizing materials.

Be kind, respectful, and motivating.
